I graduated college from DePaul University (Chicago,
Illinois) with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and began my career in
public accounting (1977). In 1981, I began my pursuit of a law degree,
which I received from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College
(Portland, Oregon). I have been a member of the Oregon State Bar since
1984.
After graduation, I served in senior management positions
in private industry for ten years where I utilized my legal, tax and accounting
training. I developed close working relationships with local banks while
securing financing for business expansion and real estate development.
I implemented accounting and management information systems, was responsible
for risk management and employee benefit programs, developed customer
contracts and coordinated tax and estate planning for company owners and
executives.
In 1996, I began my private practice where I've offered
these same services to individuals and businesses in the Pacific Northwest.
I enjoy strong ties to local banking institutions, investment firms and
bookkeeping services.
I've previously served as an Adjunct Professor at
the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College. I also serve
on the Board of Directors of local charities and art groups.
